Join OSA in celebrating Nick’s 35 years and Sophie’s 25 years with the company. From the songs and films that defined their first years to how recruitment has evolved with technology and AI, one thing remains constant: our passion for people and relationships.
35 Years with OSA: Nick Graham’s Story
When Nick joined OSA in 1990, the world was a different place. Recruitment meant paper files, handwritten notes, and ringing through candidates on a landline. Fax machines were cutting-edge, and personal computers were just finding their way into offices.
In the charts: “Killer” by Adamski featuring Seal topped the UK charts, alongside “Nothing Compares 2 U” by Sinéad O’Connor. At the cinema: Everyone was watching Home Alone, Pretty Woman, and Ghost. In the world: Germany was reunited, the Cold War was ending, and the digital age was dawning.
25 Years with OSA: Sophie Gregson’s Journey
Sophie joined OSA in 2000, right at the turn of the millennium. The internet was starting to reshape business, mobile phones were becoming essential, and “Y2K” was the buzzword of the moment.
In the charts: “Groovejet (If This Ain’t Love)” by Spiller featuring Sophie Ellis-Bextor and “Rock DJ” by Robbie Williams were UK No. 1 hits. At the cinema: Gladiator, Toy Story 2, and Chicken Run. In the world: Google was just two years old, and LinkedIn didn’t yet exist, but Sophie was already building lasting professional relationships the old-fashioned way: with heart and understanding.
What’s Changed and What Hasn’t
In 35 years, recruitment has transformed beyond recognition:
⭐From filing cabinets to cloud systems
⭐From fax machines to instant video calls
⭐From intuition alone to data and AI insights
⭐From local networks to global talent pools
But the heart of recruitment hasn’t changed. We still believe in listening, understanding, and connecting. Technology helps us work smarter, but people, our clients, candidates, and team are what make OSA special.
Looking Ahead
Technology will keep evolving…AI, automation, and data will continue to shape the future. But at OSA, one thing will never change: our passion for relationships.
We love our candidates. We value our clients. And we’ll always believe that recruitment is, above all, about people.
Here’s to Nick, Sophie, and the future of OSA, 60 years of combined experience, countless success stories, and a shared commitment to helping people thrive.
