Amateur football has been woven into the fabric of my life for as long as I can remember—first as a player, then as a minis coach on the weekends, through various committees over the years, and now, most recently, as a member of the Steering Committee for Victoria Park.
I’ve been truly flattered—and genuinely honoured—to have played a small part in helping shape what I believe is a huge milestone for sport in Guernsey. This past year, working alongside a committed group of individuals to bring Victoria Park to life, has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my life in sport.
Several weeks on from the opening weekend, and I’m still bathing in the afterglow. The energy, the pride, the sheer sense of community that flowed through the crowd and across the pitch—it was electric. Whether you’re a lifelong football fanatic or someone who just loves seeing Guernsey thrive, it was a weekend to remember.
From an OSA Recruitment point of view, we couldn’t be prouder to be involved as a Platinum Sponsor. Our support for Victoria Park goes beyond branding and banners—it’s about backing a vision for community, for youth development, for inclusivity, for shared ambition. The OSA team has been incredibly enthusiastic about it all, even those who aren’t exactly glued to Match of the Day on a Saturday night. There’s a real buzz around the office, and a shared excitement about what Victoria Park represents for the island.
One of the big dates circled in our calendars is the upcoming Guernsey Muratti. Of course, it’s always a fantastic footballing rivalry—but this year, it’s also shaping up to be the ultimate OSA team social. What better way to experience the best of Guernsey sport than shoulder to shoulder with your colleagues, supporting the island, and soaking in the atmosphere of our beautiful new home for football?
Victoria Park is more than a stadium. It’s a symbol of what we can achieve when passion, purpose, and people come together. I’m grateful to have been a tiny part of it—and even more excited about what lies ahead.
