What Makes You Happiest At Work?

31 July 2015

Employers and employees alike are aware of the importance of job satisfaction, and here at OSA, matching candidates with new jobs that they love is what we’re all about.

Last year, The Jack Welch Management Institute released an interesting set of figures about the specific things that individuals enjoyed about their job. They surveyed over 2,000 employed people in the US and asked them which aspects of their work they look forward to – here are their findings.

  • 52% claim that one of their biggest sources of satisfaction at work is enjoying the work that they do.
  • 32% say that they enjoy and look forward to their work being appreciated.
  • 30% find happiness in knowing that they are making a significant contribution.
  • 28% enjoy being challenged or stimulated by the work they do on a daily basis.
  • 24% of those interviewed say that having a good relationship with their boss makes them happy.
  • 23% cite having a positive workplace culture as one of the main reasons they enjoy going to work.
  • 20% particularly appreciate and enjoy having the opportunity to learn new skills.
  • 20% get satisfaction from being able to work in their chosen field or industry.

If you don’t find any of these points apply to you in your current position, perhaps it’s time to think about the next step of your career? Email us at mynewjob@osa.gg and allow us to help you find true job satisfaction!
