Office Christmas Parties - The OSA Rules

06 December 2013

Everyone has a slightly toe curling Christmas office party to tell. They range from the amusing to the downright sack-able and can be the ruin of Christmas for many.

Not only are we experts in recruitment, but we also have significant office party experience. So this year do yourself a favour and stick to the OSA Recruitment party rules, carefully put together to ensure that the only thing you wake up with the next day is festive cheer.

  • Have a drink but don’t drink too much. This is the cornerstone upon which many stumble.
  • Make sure you eat something. Nothing good comes from drinking on an empty stomach.
  • Enjoy yourself. Show your work colleagues your lighter side, but know where to draw the line.
  • Don’t say anything you wouldn’t feel comfortable repeating at work the following day.
  • Dress appropriately. Remember you are essentially still representing your employer.
  • Do some internal PR. Take the chance to network and speak to those members of the company you do not usually interact with.
  • Say Thank You. Be sure to thank the party organisers as well as your immediate boss.
  • Don’t kiss anyone. Just don’t.

We hope this helps, you can find lots more helpful information online here and here.
